You can't switch off your brain,
even when you try

There's always something to fix, control, worry about, or get right.

You hold it all together - but you just can't let go. Even when you stop, your mind keeps going.

You don't want to fall apart. You just want to finally breathe..

This is what life
really feels like...

Your mind is always on—fifty tabs open, none of them quiet.

You fall into bed exhausted, and wake up already tense.

You’re terrified of getting anything wrong at work, “feedback” feels like failure.

Every word, every task, every decision you make has to be the “right” one.

Rest doesn’t help. It just reminds you're not doing something you "should be doing".

You replay conversations, rewrite emails, double-check locks and feelings alike.

And the scariest part? You don't know how to stop.

You are high-functioning, anxious, self-critical,
and can't switch off.

I will help you move from control to calm,
from striving to self-trust.

I'm Chris, psychotherapist and counsellor in Didsbury, South Manchester

My work is about helping you loosen your grip so you can feel steady, grounded, and at ease in your own skin.

You don't have to take my word for it.

Read below what that transformation can look like, in the words of people I've worked with.

S.K., Former Client

"I feel so much less anxious now. I've gained a new perspective and finally understand what I need to do to move forward."

A.P., Former Client

"It helped so much to have the support and freedom to talk in a non-judgemental space. I felt I could say things I couldn't with other people."

M.T., Former Client

"Just reaching out and having someone to talk to has made all the difference. It's the help I knew I needed."

I put you, not the method, first

Counselling before felt like talking to a nodding head, getting endless validation but no real insight.

Or it felt impersonal, like you were a "patient" getting a one-size-fits-all worksheet.

This is different

Our sessions are an active, collaborative conversation.

My role isn’t to sit back and nod. It’s to help you connect the dots in your story, to gently challenge the patterns that keep you stuck, and to guide you toward new ways of relating to yourself and others.

We won’t just talk about what’s happening, we’ll explore why it keeps happening, and what needs to shift so you can finally breathe again.

Your path to feeling like yourself again

Reaching out can be the hardest part.

Your process to getting started is as straightforward and comfortable as possible.

Here are the three simple steps we'll take together.

Step 1: Your free 30-minute session

This is a relaxed, 30-minute session where I understand your problem, answer your questions, and you can get a feel for how I work. By the end, you’ll know the best next step for you, with zero obligation or pressure.

Step 2: Your first full 50 minute session

You will leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful. We go at your pace as we begin to map out what a steadier and kinder future looks like for you.

Step 3: You reclaim your life

Your weekly sessions are your dedicated space to make real, lasting change. Together, we'll move beyond constant self-criticism and overthinking, and start building the tools and self-awareness to feel safe "being" rather than always "doing".

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom

You’ve white-knuckled for long enough

You don't need to keep managing everything on your own.

Change doesn't start with a huge leap, just a single honest step.
