Specialist therapy for OCD and health anxiety.
Online across the UK, and in person in Didsbury (M20), Manchester.
With a therapist who understands from the inside out.

And yet - here you are, checking again.
You know what
intrusive thoughts are.
You know reassurance makes it worse.
Health anxiety tells you that you're being rational.
That this symptom is different.
That you just
need one more Google search.
And then you can put it aside and get on with your day.
Except it never works out that way.
SENSATION
Something starts to feel wrong.
THOUGHT
What if it's serious this time?
COMPULSION
Check. Google. Seek reassurance.
RELIEF
Brief. Then the next thought arrives.
The cruel thing about OCD and health anxiety is the self-awareness. You know, intellectually, that the thought is irrational - and still feel completely unable to move past it.
The checking isn't stupidity. It's what the brain does when anxiety has learned that checking works.

The question isn't what's wrong with you. It's whether the therapy you're getting actually understands the mechanism - or whether it's general anxiety advice dressed up as OCD treatment.
I'm Chris, psychotherapist and counsellor in Didsbury, South Manchester
OCD and health anxiety are one of the areas I specialise in. Conditions I know deeply, both professionally and personally.

The approach I use isn't a general anxiety toolkit.
We work on dismantling your compulsion cycle and building a different relationship with your thoughts - using ERP and ACT, both specific, structured, and evidence-based.
I also bring something harder to qualify: I’ve lived with OCD and health anxiety myself. That changes how I listen, what I notice, and what I won’t be fooled by.
S.K., Former Client
"I feel so much less anxious now. I've gained a new perspective and finally understand what I need to do to move forward."
A.P., Former Client
"It helped so much to have the support and freedom to talk in a non-judgemental space. I felt I could say things I couldn't with other people."
M.T., Former Client
"Just reaching out and having someone to talk to has made all the difference. It's the help I knew I needed."
What changes when the right therapy clicks
BEFORE
You check, research, and seeking reassurance.
Intrusive thoughts knock the wind out of you.
You avoid "triggers" so as not to start the cycle.
You have to manage your symptoms day to day.
You are exhausted from trying to keep it together.
AFTER
Tolerating uncertainty without needing resolve it.
You see thoughts as just...thoughts.
You live your life rather than hide from it.
You've adressed the root, not the symptoms.
More energy for the things that matter.
This isn't about becoming someone who never has intrusive thoughts. It's about becoming someone whose thoughts no longer control you.
Ready to try a different approach?
If you’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t touch the OCD or health anxiety — or if you’ve never sought help because you weren’t sure anyone would really get it — I’d like to hear from you.
An initial consultation is a chance to talk about what’s going on and whether working together feels right. No pressure, no commitment.
I'd tried two therapists before Chris. Neither of them really understood what I was going through. Within a few sessions I could tell this was different.
